Brake inspection
Let us hoist your car up, take off your tires, and let you know exactly how much of your brake life remains. A brake inspection involves thoroughly examining the key components of the braking system, including the brake pads, rotors, calipers, and brake fluid.
-
BG Brake Fluid Flush
A brake fluid flush involves removing old, contaminated brake fluid from the system and replacing it with fresh fluid to ensure optimal braking performance and safety.
-
Brake Pads
A brake pad replacement involves removing the worn-out brake pads and installing new ones. They press against the brake rotors/discs to create the friction necessary to slow down or stop your vehicle. Over time, brake pads wear down due to the heat and friction generated during braking.
-
Master Brake Cylinder
The master cylinder is responsible for converting the force from the brake pedal into hydraulic pressure, which is then distributed through the brake lines to engage the brakes at each wheel. Over time, the master cylinder can develop issues such as internal leaks, worn seals, or fluid contamination, which can lead to reduced braking performance or a soft brake pedal.
-
Brake Rotors
Brake rotors work in conjunction with the brake pads, providing a surface for the pads to press against and create the friction needed to slow down or stop your vehicle. Over time, rotors can become worn, warped, or develop grooves due to heat, friction, and general wear.
-
Brake Caliper
Brake calipers house the brake pads and use hydraulic pressure to press them against the rotors, creating the friction needed to slow down or stop your vehicle. Over time, calipers can develop issues such as sticking, leaking, or uneven wear, which can compromise braking performance and safety.
-
Brake hoses
Brake hoses are flexible tubes that carry hydraulic brake fluid from the master cylinder to the calipers, enabling the application of pressure needed to engage the brakes. Over time, brake hoses can deteriorate, crack, or develop leaks due to age, heat, and exposure to road debris.

Brake System Repair
Your brake system is crucial for your safety, so it’s important to stay on top of maintenance. Regularly checking your brake pads and rotors, typically every 6,000 to 12,000 miles, can help catch wear before it becomes a bigger issue.
Additionally, a brake fluid flush is recommended every 1 to 2 years, as old fluid can absorb moisture and lead to decreased braking performance. Signs like squeaking, a soft pedal, or pulling to one side indicate you should have your brakes inspected.
Keeping up with these maintenance tasks not only ensures your safety but also enhances your vehicle’s performance. The ability to stop a vehicle predictably and quickly is vital to your safety. If it’s been a while since your last check, let’s get those brakes inspected!
